Help & FAQs

Package files or a folder, or open a ZIP and download the files you need. Everything stays in this browser.

How to use it

  1. Choose Create ZIP or Extract ZIP.
  2. Add files or a folder, or choose one ZIP. Check the file list.
  3. Creation or extraction starts after file validation. Download the real ZIP or individual files when ready.

One workbench for packing and extracting

Add files, choose a folder, or drop files and folders in Create ZIP. Standard compression uses Deflate; Store packages exact file bytes without compression. The folder structure is preserved. File and folder names use Unicode NFC normalization to detect equivalent-name conflicts; their original Unicode spelling may change. Empty folders are not included.

Extract ZIP checks every entry and CRC before offering downloads. Extracted files are listed by their folder path; an individual download keeps the final file name. Files are never automatically opened, previewed or executed.

Limits and compatibility

Up to 200 files, 500 archive or dropped-folder entries, 25 MB per file and 50 MB total input, expanded content and ZIP output. Each processing task has 45-second checkpoints. Cancellation takes effect between bounded chunks; it cannot interrupt one synchronous codec chunk.

Supported ZIP methods are Store and Deflate, with explicit UTF-8 or ASCII paths. Password encryption, ZIP64, split volumes, non-ASCII legacy encodings, symbolic links and alternative Unicode-name extra fields are rejected. Unsafe, nonportable, duplicate normalized or case-insensitive paths and file/folder conflicts are rejected rather than overwritten. Nested ZIP files remain ordinary files.

Compression may make already compressed files larger. Standard compression is not guaranteed to reduce size. Source file bytes and folder structure are preserved with normalized names; source timestamps, permissions and other metadata are not copied. No archive content is uploaded or stored persistently.

ZIP questions

Can I upload a folder or drag it here?

Folder selection works where the browser exposes it. Desktop folder drops preserve nested paths; other browsers can use file selection or ZIP input. Empty folders are not preserved.

Does it support password-protected ZIP or RAR?

No. Only unencrypted Store and Deflate ZIP archives are supported. RAR, 7z, ZIP64 and multi-volume archives are not supported.

Will compressed files always be smaller?

No. JPEG, video and other compressed formats may gain overhead. Store only packages bytes. Both modes produce a standard ZIP with bounded output.

Are extracted files safe to open?

This tool validates archive structure, paths, sizes and CRC, but does not inspect file contents for malware. Files are downloaded only on your action and never executed by the tool.
